Hello Guys! Last Saturday me and my friends went out to eat at Recovery Food, the food there was scrumptuous. Then we had dessert and Magnum Manila and when shopping around SM Aura and MARKET! MARKET! after.
As you all know I'm a huge fan of denim pieces, may it be a top, a chambray, an accessory, a belt, jeans, bag, etc. And I love mixing it with the same pattern or style, just like a denim-on-denim look. In this post I'll be showing you how I mixed 2 denim pieces and mixed it up to give it a fresher and a "new" look.
I wore a modern 2-toned style button down, it's half white denim and half washed denim. I bought this shirt at Burton Menswear in SM Megamall. It's a good piece especially if you're the type of guy who loves denim and loves to wear simple elegant pieces and also if you're a minimalistic trendsetter. This top will look even better if layered with a white, black or another denim piece like a jacket, hoodie, blazer, or a coat but I decided no to so I could show you how it looks when work as is.
I matched this top with denim jeans I bought at Forever 21, then paired it up with my Nike Air, Patterned socks and some gold accesories.
Gold Accessories always look good with white and denim, these can make you look 5 times classier and on trend as well. Adding a hint of a "pop" color can also give your look more character. As you can see, I paired it up with a beige and salmon pink colored Nike sneakers. I also added a hint of yellow in my argyles to give my look more flavor.
About three months ago, I was featured on The SDA Project sporting this outfit. The SDA Project is a blog for DLS-CSB SDA students, it revolves around style, fashion, food, news, etc. They'll show you what's in and hot this season for Benildeans and LaSallians.
"Investing on timeless pieces such as a bomber jacket is always a good idea. These have been around for decades, tracing back to WWI. It obviously won’t be going anywhere, any time soon. No matter how you’d wear it, you’d still look as equally cool. Think James Dean in Rebel Without a Cause or perhaps mega dream boat, Ryan Gosling. Today, PJ shows us how he styles his bomber jacket."

Simple doesn't mean being boring or bland. Simplicity in one's outfit dictates a strong perception of being fashionable because this is where audience can see whether you look good wearing plain. Also, this is a chance for them to see that YOU are wearing the clothes, not vice versa (the clothes are wearing you, okay you got that already, sorry haha).
Black is always a safe color to wear and can make you look tall and slim. An all black outfit even is a good look but make sure to add some details that would stand out because you wouldn't want to look like a goth or a hairdresser in salons. A simple jacket, even in a muted or dull tone can look good in an all black outfit especially you want to keep that dark elegant look you'd like to project. Simple details in your jacket like buttons, pockets, shape, pipings make a difference. Make sure to choose one that can make an outfit looks complete. Accessories also does the same trick as well as your bag and shoes.
I this look I wore an all black outfit and layered it with a shade of a moss/ olive/ grass green (sorry i'm not particuar with the exact color) with vintage gold button details. I paired it up with the same Vintage Gold tone of watch from Aldo and added a Houndstooth-patern tote bag from SM Department Store (which I got for P99 only, how coolr is that?)
Plain Black Tee, TOPMAN
Black Skinny Jeans, 21 MEN
Gold Watch, ALDO
Houndstooth Tote Bag, SM DEPT STORE
Black Suede Slippers with tassel, MILANOS at SM DEPT STORE
The month of August had flown by so quickly and it welcomes us with rainy season and a bipolar breeze. It seems just like yesterday when I was lying down on the shorelines of Bataan getting tanned skin and catching fishes in those clear blue waters while my siblings build their sandcastles.
Well, summer time is long gone and typhoons are coming in and out. It's always smart to bring a jacket or sweater to protect you from rain and to keep you warm. If it's a hassle for you to bring a jacket why not wrap it around your waste to add character to your look and to give a more stylish enterpretation of your OOTD.
I chose to wear maroon, navy blue and black because these are my favorite colors to match with any palette and I decided to wear all my favorite hint pieces in one look. I am always the minimalist type when it comes to styling and fashion, I always believe that less is more but there are diferent perspectives to that. If you're wearing a bright or solid colored or a patterned top, try to match it with plain bottoms to accentuate the main piece of your look. Also, it's okay to get different colors and layers as long as you make one stand out of the other. Never use too much bold pieces in one outfit if you want to look classy, neat and approachable. Always make one stand out of the other, if you want to choose two bold statements, make sure that these two are complementing or contrasting in a good way or your outfit can look terrible.
For me, button-down shirts are must-haves. The classic shape and sillhouette of a button-down can make you look slim and proportion especially of you get one in your exact size. Also being a "button-down" it looks neater, cleaner and more classy and stylish than regular polos because it holds up the collar to avoid flapping and unwanted awkward sillhouettes.
Rucksacks have been the new craze since last year and this my second RuckSack I bought at Flying Dutchman. I love the Navy Blue canvas and Mahogany Brown leather details and how it can match different color pallettes of different outfits. Also, the bag is very strong and can carry lots of stuff like books, SLRs, extra clothes, headphones, tablets, Macbook Air, etc.
I have always been a fan of Vans and their cool fresh designs. This Black Canvas with gold details and Brown sole is a must buy for fashionistas and fashionistos who would want to wear sneakers but still looking classy and sophisticated. Also, it's a perfect buy for people who have difficulties in matching clothes because this pair is a master match to any of your palettes and outfits.
