Simple doesn't mean being boring or bland. Simplicity in one's outfit dictates a strong perception of being fashionable because this is where audience can see whether you look good wearing plain. Also, this is a chance for them to see that YOU are wearing the clothes, not vice versa (the clothes are wearing you, okay you got that already, sorry haha). 

Black is always a safe color to wear and can make you look tall and slim. An all black outfit even is a good look but make sure to add some details that would stand out because you wouldn't want to look like a goth or a hairdresser in salons. A simple jacket, even in a muted or dull tone can look good in an all black outfit especially you want to keep that dark elegant look you'd like to project. Simple details in your jacket like buttons, pockets, shape, pipings make a difference. Make sure to choose one that can make an outfit looks complete. Accessories also does the same trick as well as your bag and shoes.

I this look I wore an all black outfit and layered it with a shade of a moss/ olive/ grass green (sorry i'm not particuar with the exact color) with vintage gold button details. I paired it up with the same Vintage Gold tone of watch from Aldo and added a Houndstooth-patern tote bag from SM Department Store (which I got for P99 only, how coolr is that?)
